FAQs

Is this site endorsed by Judge Williams, Nguyen, Humetewa and Thompson?

No. This site is in no way endorsed by or connected to the qualifying candidates.

Is the individual or entity who runs this site personally connected to Judge Diane Humetewa, Judge Ann Claire Williams, Judge Jacqueline Nguyen or Judge Ojetta Rogeriee Thompson?

No. Julene Allen of www.leaninwomenofcolor.com has never met Judge Diane Humetewa, Judge Ann Claire Williams, Judge Jacqueline Nguyen or Judge Ojetta Rogeriee Thompson, and she has not heard of Judge Ann Claire Williams until she did some research in November 2008. She started a petition which included Judge Ann Claire Williams, Judge Sonia Sotomayor and Judge Marjorie Rendell. Sotomayor was eventually picked. Julene Allen was unsure whether her petition impacted the President Obama's nomination of Sonia Sotomayor in 2009 because the petition had less than 100 signatures though she promoted the petition throughout social media.

In November 2016, Julene Allen did more research on eligible women of color.  This is when she introduced Judge Diane Humetewa, Judge Jacqueline Nguyen and Judge Ojetta Rogeriee Thompson to the 2016 petition.

Has the draft picks expressed or implied any interest in the U.S. Supreme Court?

As far as it is known, the draft picks have not publicly informed their desire for the U.S. Supreme Court.

Isn't it a little early to be talking about the U.S. Supreme Court?

It is never too early. However, if any current U.S. Supreme Court Judge expresses their desire to retire their seat, Judge Diane Humetewa, Judge Ann Claire Williams, Judge Jacqueline Nguyen or Judge Ojetta Rogeriee Thompson would be viable candidates for the position. The selection can possibly be a lengthy process and it would be a good idea for those who support the above Judges to express who they would like to select NOW!

Do you aspire to force the President to Judge Diane Humetewa, Judge Ann Claire Williams, Judge Jacqueline Nguyen or Judge Ojetta Rogeriee Thompson?

No. The goal of this site is to show the new president that the above judges would be a good choice. It is the belief of this site that the President will like what she or he sees if reviewed Judge Diane Humetewa, Judge Ann Claire Williams, Judge Jacqueline Nguyen or Judge Ojetta Rogeriee Thompson and add to his short list of prospective US Supreme Court Judges if and when needed. However, the President must select a U.S. Supreme Court Judge that she or he believes is best for the country.

Do you really think that the petition can affect the selection process for the U.S. Supreme Court?

Well, that really depends on you, the Americans and the supporters. If there is a lot of support for a Judge Diane Humetewa, Judge Ann Claire Williams, Judge Jacqueline Nguyen or Judge Ojetta Rogeriee Thompson Thompson draft, then TOGETHER we can have an effect on the political process. Is it going to be easy? No, but it is far from impossible. The power of the web to influence events just as it did in supporting President Elect Hillary Clinton. Maybe it will make an impact, maybe it won’t, but it is certainly worth a good college try.

Did someone already attempt this?

Yes, as a matter of fact, Adam Brickley created a blog to draft Governor Palin for Vice President in 2006. Palin’s supporters got in involved with the process. I believe that Governor Palin was eventually reviewed by John McCain’s camp as a result. His blog is still listed at http://palinforvp.blogspot.com . By no means, this is an endorsement of Palin, just the drafting process.
